Week 19: Elder Waghers, new comp

12/12/16

Monday: Today was our last P'Day with Elder Nieves. In the morning we went to Blue mall. It is the nicest mall I have ever been to, to be honest. The whole city is super nice. We saw a lot of nice cars then we went home to email. We had two good appointments that night with  members then that was the end of transfer 2.

Tuesday: Today we woke up at 5:20a to get to the transfer chapel by 6:30a. Once we got there I got my new companion and packages from home then went back to the house with  my new companion. His name is Elder Wagher from Mesa, Arizona. He has 16 months in the mission and his favorite sport is golf. He is really cool and very obedient! He is such a hard worker and I am super excited to be his companion. After we got home and dropped his bags off we went to the immigration center for 6 hours. It’s like the DMV. We then came back home and went straight to work until 9:30 P.M. Longest day of the mission so far.

Wednesday: Today was another good day on the mission. We had great study in the morning then we planned the week. Elder Waghers knows how to plan really well! He is teaching me a lot how to plan more effectively. We also cooked a good lunch for the guys then went to work. We had some very good lessons with members. A couple fell through but it allowed us to find new people. Solid day!

Thursday: Today was the longest work day of the mission. Elder Waghers had a meeting and there was a guy in the mission office waiting to go home. His name is Elder Vilediro from Belize. We had to be at the La Paz chapel at 8:30a. I left back to my area with him, which was his first area also in the mission. His last day he got to go back to his first area and see all the people! It was really cool to see the members and him say hi after 2 years pretty much. We visited people from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. And we ate on the streets too. I met a lot of new less actives I can go visit now. It was a long day but very fun! Talked to at least a 100 people!

Friday: In the morning we had a district meeting then after we went and bought a couple groceries. I bought some apple cider then when I got home I realized it had alcohol in it. I just threw it away. One of our investigators can’t get baptized quite yet because is not quite prepared enough. That sucked to hear but as long as he gets truly converted. We also had another with another investigator with the same baptism date that we also had to push back because she doesn’t have enough times to church. After that we had some really solid lessons. Overall a good day.

Saturday: In the morning we went to Caridad’s house to do some paperwork for her baptism which is this next Saturday. She is so prepared and I cant wait! We then went and bought the food for the church activity in the evening. We came home and one of the Elder’s left his sink on and Elder Waghers and I cleaned the water up for an hour and a half because they weren’t home and weren’t going to be for a long time. That sucked but we got it done. We then only had time for a little left overs then go to work. The first appointment fell through then we went and picked up a member. The next appointment fell through but we felt prompted to go down this one alleyway and found a old investigator of some other Elders that what she said just stopped visiting her even when she went to church but then we talked with her for a while and she is pretty close to baptism to be honest. She knows it’s true and we just need to help her prepare a little more. So cool how the Lord works! We then went and taught English. We had a investigators kids show up and we got to teach them! The activity after went great. We watched “The Grinch”. Solid movie.  Another solid day on the mission! Elder Waghers is awesome too! Super hard worker and is here for 110% the right reasons.

Sunday: We had a really good day today! Caridad got her baptism interview in the morning and passed! She then went to sacrament meeting and so did two other investigators. We also had 10 less actives show up! That is a record! After church we came back here and ate lunch. We then went to work and saw a little bit of everyone. Elder Wagher then had another meeting so I was with Elder Cook again. We went to a members house and I got to give some blessing to some kids that had some really big tests that week! We also did some fire crackers and ate! Awesome time there, then went to a less actives house and after we shared with him we talked about his life when he lived in Utah! Super fun way to end the night before P'Day!

Awesome week here! It is crazy how fast the time flies! Got my third companion already! I can't wait to see what this ward looks like when I leave!
