Monday: Today was pretty cool! In the morning we went to the stake center to have a zone activity to play basketball and soccer indoors with AC. That was super fun and we also got a food delivery guy. After that my companion & I have been thinking it may be worth it to go a little further to buy groceries at what is called Price Mart. It is exactly the same as Costco in the states. We went there to check out the prices and stuff and decided it would be better. It was so nice to walk in there and see high quality things again! We then went home and got cleaned up to talk with home. After we went to a recent converts house and she taught me how to make rice pudding, I think that is what it´s called in English. Super good then shared with them a bit and called it a day!
Tuesday: Today was very slow but we had an awesome night. In the morning we just cleaned the house a bit because some of us are sick and others are sore. After personal study we went to one of our better investigators. She is progressing well and we are getting the mom more involved. After we contacted a bit. We went home for lunch and I cut my own hair. Not to bad but not to great haha! I am learning! After lunch we had our first 5 appointments fall through. We had to stop for a bit and meet a guy at our house to fix our washer. He took it and won’t bring it back until Saturday. That sucked. We contacted a TON! We found some pretty good people but not like jumping up and down pee myself good. We then went to a ¨family home evening¨ we put together with about 20 people and talked about the families and enduring to the end. We cooked a cake and brought it and also brought some soda. We played games too and was a great way to end the night!
Wednesday: Today was a pretty slow day. I woke up with a sucky cold and couldn´t breath through my nose so we didn´t do any exercise. I just listened to some talks and read some of the Liahona. After personal and companion study we went to the district meeting. That was good and animating. We talked a bit about charity and how we have to develop this attribute as missionaries always dealing with these people. For lunch we just bought empenadas and I had some rice pudding leftover. After lunch we took off and visited a family and shared with them a new way to find references. We stopped by some old investigators I had and they said they missed us and wanted us to pass by again. That was nice to hear. We went to the other half of our area finally. We are trying to divide the area so that we can work one half one day and the other half another day to be the most effective. We visited the members and less actives around there. It was a lot of walking and we contacted a bit but didn’t find any awesome people. Hopefully another day. We started back closer to the house and we had a member family feed us some food which was a nice surprise. After we went to an appointment we had but the mom wasn´t there but we got to know the dad and he is super cool! It was a slow day but wasn´t bad. Pretty sick but nothing drugs can´t fix.
Thursday: Today was for sure not the most fun day. I woke up with a cold and just felt like poop. I just grabbed my speaker and put on some general conference talks and listened a lot about the plan of salvation. When we left for the day we went to a less active who is doing a lot better. She is making good decisions and I hope to see her at church this Sunday. We got to talk to a another less active that has been difficult to contact in my time here. After we found a new investigator who is cool and doesn´t claim a church but has desire to know. After him we had a member leave with us to an appointment but the investigator wasn´t there but we talked with some of the friends of the member who are really cool. They are a whole family! We also had another member leave with us to another appointment that night that went awesome! The mom of this investigator wasn´t super interested but is a lot more now! They might go to the stake conference this Sunday! All the appointments in between fell through so thats why it wasn´t the best but not a terrible day.
Friday: I woke up sick again and a little worse. I just felt super sore and the medicine wasn´t doing a whole lot. I just slept in and then when we left in the morning we had a member give us chinola and I made chinola tea that is probably the best drink I have tried in my life. We also made some spaghetti for lunch and I felt a little better after that. I took a pretty big nap and woke up a lot better. We had a member leave with us for the day and we went to the other half of our area. We talked with a lot of less actives and taught a lot of them and got them animated for the conference this Sunday. We found a couple more partial families too and I really want to work on completing them. We have about 5 right now that we know of. After our appointments over there we went to the chapel to teach our class. It wasn´t terrible but not many people showed up. After the class I talked with Bishop for a bit about our people then we went to a members house and they fed us hot chocolate. Pretty fun day!
Saturday: Was a pretty good day. We started it off playing some solid basketball with some members. That is always a blast and a great way to start my day. After we got cleaned up and stuff we went out and we mainly just handed out invitations to this stake conference that was today, Saturday and Sunday. We got the invitations on Friday which made it difficult. We reminded as many people as we can and talked to every one about it. We had a couple appointments we went to but it was mainly just telling people about this thing. We walked a lot and then had to come back to the house because the guy who ¨fixed¨ our washing machine was there to return it. We brought it up the stairs and the dang thing was practically the same. He had already left so it was just a whole be waist of time. I told the office I know how to fix it and I know where I could buy another motor if they pay me back and I will fix the thing for free. They told me they would get back to me. After that we went to the priesthood section. It was really good and we had Elder Ca… from the seventy talk and also my mission president spoke. Good way to end the night!
Sunday: Sunday started nice and early trying to find investigators for this conference. It was at a different chapel a little ways away so we took buses. We where about to get 6 investigator to go to this thing and a less active. There where a ton of people who showed up. I think about 1000 people or more! It was really good! After we all piled into the buses. I don´t know why but more people needed rides back home so they where SUPER full! Like the bus can hold about 30 to 35 people. I counted when we where driving and we had to have 50 people in this thing. It was so packed that Elder Nelson and I had to hang outside with 2 other people but we where standing on this bar outside and I had to just hold onto a seat through the window! The driver had no mercy and drove like there was no one there and they like to fit these buses through tight places. There was motorcycles driving by almost hitting my leg with their handle bars and cars almost hitting us with their mirrors! So much fun! We made it to our destination about 20 minutes later and my arms where pretty sore from holding on. We just went back to the house and took a nap then went to an investigators house. That was fun and we had a really good talk with them. After that we walked a ways to our other half of the area. We visited a lot of less actives and tried to find some new people. It was petty good but the night ended even better. We went to a investigators house and she actually read the pamphlet! You don’t know how hard it is to find someone who can read or who will actually read! She read pretty much the whole thing and said that she wants to know more about Joseph Smith. The lesson went awesome and the spirit was so strong! We even got her oldest daughter who is in college to sit with us and they really liked the message! She said that she has been praying to God to know what church has the full truth. I am so grateful that I can be that instrument in the Lord’s hands to find these prepared people. We got out of that lesson and Elder Moradel jumped on me in excitement haha! Then right after that we went to another investigators house and met the husband who is a Pentecostal. He was different than any other and said that he has even read the testimony of Joseph Smith and wants to know the origin of our church. He was so open to us and said that he doesn´t like to ask other people these questions because they can make things up because they don´t know the whole truth! It was another super good lesson and Elder Moradel and I where very happy the way that night ended!
This week was super fun and we worked hard! We are talking to everyone trying to find those who are ready & God had prepared for us! My testimony of this Gospel grows every day and it is amazing to see it change peoples lives! I am so grateful I can share this message of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ!
Adios,
Elder Wolfe
